Dog Loves Tripe, and Kidney Labs are Improving January 1, 2024 Reviewer: Wendy Irvin from Powell, OH United States   About 6 months ago, my 14 year old Cavachon was diagnosed with stage 2 kidney disease (BUN of 56, creatinine of 2.2).  My vet convinced me to put her on a dry prescription kidney diet for a few months, but after further research, I switched her to a more natural, moisture-rich diet of Dr. Harvey's canine health with tripe.  I have been rotating between the goat, lamb and beef tripe, with a different tripe protein each week.  She LOVES her new food and gobbles up the tripe raw (she has never eaten raw previously).  In just 1 month of the tripe-based meals, her BUN has decreased to 37, and her creatinine is now in the NORMAL range at 1.5 (0.5-1.8).  Raw tripe has been able to reverse her kidney disease, which we were told would be progressive.  Thank you Raw Paws!
