What is Air-Dried Dog Food?

Air-dried dog food is preserved through a slow dehydration process that removes moisture while using lower temperatures than traditional kibble production. This method helps maintain more of the food’s original structure, aroma, and nutrient composition.

Because the moisture is gradually reduced rather than rapidly cooked away, the ingredients often retain a more natural appearance and texture. Air-dried foods are typically shelf-stable while remaining less processed than many conventional dry diets.

The slower drying approach also creates a denser food with concentrated nutrition in smaller serving sizes. In raw feeding spaces, air-dried products are often viewed as a middle ground between fully raw and traditional kibble feeding.
