What are Fat-Soluble Vitamins?

Fat-soluble vitamins include Vitamins A, D, E, and K, which are absorbed along with dietary fats and stored in the body. They play key roles in vision, immune function, and bone health. Because these vitamins depend on fat for absorption, the presence and quality of dietary fats directly influence how effectively the body can use them. 

Unlike water-soluble vitamins that are regularly excreted, fat-soluble vitamins can remain stored in tissues and be utilized over time as needed. This longer-term storage makes balance especially important, since both deficiency and excess can affect overall function. In whole-food nutrition, these vitamins are often naturally present within animal fats and organ tissues rather than needing to be added separately.
