Even though our food-grade diatomaceous earth is safe and non-toxic for all animals and humans, it can be drying so we suggest wearing gloves when handling. We also recommend wearing a mask to avoid inhalation. Dust may cause eye and respiratory irritation. Exposure to excessive quantities of dust may cause lung damage. Signs of symptoms of lung damage include coughing, tightness in the chest, shortness of breath, and damage to lung tissue. Precautions: Use an approved respirator and goggles. First Aid: Eyes – Flush with clean water to remove dust. Inhalation – Move to fresh air.
